The Basics Utah participates in several local projects involving networks of organizations that share our vision. The following are examples:

Promise Baby & You

Promise Baby & You is a powerful, family-centered program designed to support families from pregnancy through age 3, building confidence, connection, and strong early childhood foundations. Over nine weeks, caregivers participate in engaging, in-person workshops led by trusted community experts and learn practical, everyday ways to use The Basics Principles to support their child’s development. Families are supported every step of the way with meals and childcare provided during sessions, making participation easier and more accessible. Upon competition of the program, each child under age 3 will receive a contribution to a My529 college savings plan helping families invest early in their child’s future. Launched in 2025, Promise Baby & You has already served over 100 families in Promise South Salt Lake and across the Davis School District, and is now scaling across Salt Lake County and Grand County. This program empowers parents and caregivers as their child’s first and most important teacher, while building a strong, connected village of support around every family.

Together Time

Together Time is a proven, joyful early learning experience where PreK children and their caregivers build school ready skills together in a fun, welcoming classroom. Through hands‑on play, singing, movement, stories, and simple learning activities, children strengthen early literacy, numeracy, and social skills while gaining confidence with routines and group participation. Backed by nearly 20 years of success, Granite School District Family Engagement Centers offer Together Time in 21 school and community locations. Beginning in 2026 The Basics will be used as their trusted, research based parent curriculum. Together Time is focused on empowering parents, reminding them they are their child’s first and most important teacher. Families leave class confident, knowing they can easily continue the learning and connection at home.

Promise Child & You

Promise Child & You is a powerful, family-centered program designed to support caregivers of children ages 4–6, building confidence, connection, and strong kindergarten readiness skills. Over nine weeks, caregivers participate in engaging, in-person workshops led by trusted community partners and learn practical, everyday ways to use The Basics Principles to support learning, social-emotional development, and a smooth transition into kindergarten. Families are supported every step of the way with meals and childcare provided during sessions, making participation easier and more accessible. Upon completion of the program, each child will receive a scholarship contribution to a my529 college savings plan, helping families invest early in their child’s educational future. Promise Child & You empowers parents and caregivers as their child’s first and most important teacher, while strengthening connections between families, schools, and community organizations. Together, we ensure every child enters school prepared for lifelong learning, with a strong foundation for academic and developmental success.
